Response to Brief

To begin with, the brief for my A2 course consists of creating a horror trailer alongside a horror poster and magazine front cover that goes well with one another. Throughout my blog I will show
research, explorations, developments and an evaluation as a closure for my course.

The first horror film I recall watching was 'Chucky' when I was a child. I remember being frightened from this doll resulting in getting nightmares which I gradually got over. In addition, my feelings towards the horror genre was impacted therefore wasn't fond of continuing to watch  horror movies any longer. However, I have recently started watching some thrillers such as 'Psycho' and 'Friday The 13th' as a means to get over my fear. In relation to this I have also gone ahead and watched the horror movie 'The Conjuring' which I didn't find as scary and rather enjoyed the story line. I found unexpected moments slightly frightening resulting in responding with a little jump now and then such as when a scary face had made an appearance suddenly or even the use of the distorted doll and it's hideous makeup.

Personally spontaneous and creative posters intrigue me the most as they are well thought out as well as not boring and average therefore usually temps me into watching the trailer and then wanting to watch the movie. Moreover, for my project I'd like to create a 'slasher' type horror movie or one that consists of a psychopathic twisted plot as I personally find them interesting. I am most excited and thrilled about developing my skills when creating fake makeup for the characters in order to enhance any injuries as well as work more on the camera such as it's angles, movements and composition
